OK| Oklahoma’s May 1, 2026 Special Notice announces that, effective May 1, 2026, the state has transitioned to a State-based Exchange on the Federal Platform (SBE-FP), giving the Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) new responsibility for key Marketplace functions such as public engagement, community assistance programs, health plan management, and consumer hotline support, while consumers will continue to shop for and enroll in individual health coverage through HealthCare.gov for plan years 2026 and 2027, using OID’s new “Get Covered” and “Find Local Help” webpages as centralized resources for coverage information and local enrollment assistance; this SBE-FP shift is described as a major step toward Oklahoma’s goal of operating a full State-based Exchange for the 2028 Open Enrollment Period, with OID indicating that additional implementation updates will follow as work progresses.
