PA| Pennsylvania Insurance Department Notice 2026-06 announces the annual Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) adjustment to the statutory maximum benefit for autism services under Act 62, increasing the cap from $51,908 to $53,310 per year for policies issued or renewed in calendar year 2027 following a 2.7% CPI-U increase for the year preceding December 30, 2025. The Department notes that this technical adjustment, required by section 635.2(b) of The Insurance Company Law of 1921, is not expected to affect actual autism coverage in the Commonwealth because insurers are already required to provide autism benefits consistent with federal and state mental health parity laws, including the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act and its incorporation into Pennsylvania law in Article VI-B.
