Texas TDI Approves TAIPA Auto Rate Changes Effective November 1, 2026

TX| The Texas Department of Insurance’s Commissioner’s Bulletin B-0005-26, dated June 22, 2026, notifies all insurers writing automobile business in Texas that new Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association (TAIPA) rates for private passenger and commercial auto have been approved, effective November 1, 2026, for new and renewal policies under Commissioner’s Order No. 2026-9983; the filing produces an overall 2.8% increase for private passenger and 4.9% increase for commercial auto, reflecting component changes including 5.0% increases to BI liability for both lines, a 0.2% PD increase for private passenger and 5.0% for commercial, a 5.0% decrease to private passenger PIP (no change for commercial), and various increases to uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages.
