CO: Medicare Advantage Service Area Reductions (B-4.159)

Colorado has adopted Bulletin B-4.159, effective September 9, 2026, imposing a data request on all carriers offering Medicare Advantage Plans that are experiencing Service Area Reductions (SAR) for the 2027 calendar year. The Division is aware of insurers leaving certain areas or counties and is collecting SAR data to ensure Medicare beneficiaries receive accurate information. Carriers offering MA plans must respond to the data request and align beneficiary communications with the reported SAR information, making this a direct reporting and disclosure obligation on regulated insurers rather than a consumer-only notice.
