Dan Epstein Tagger’s ReSource Pro journey featured in Carrier Management

Share:

In 2005, Dan Epstein Tagger responded to a handwritten job ad for a sales and marketing role at a startup offering insurance processing services. Eight months later, he made his first sale, and within four months, he became the company’s CEO.

Under Epstein’s leadership, ReSource Pro grew from 12 employees and four clients to a global operations provider with over 10,000 employees and 1,500 clients.

Building a foundation for growth

When Epstein joined, insurance outsourcing was uncommon, especially among regional and mid-sized companies. His mission was clear: show how offshore resources could increase efficiency and improve operations.

Epstein quickly identified the industry’s pain points—labor shortages, inconsistent processes, and a need for reliable support. In response, ReSource Pro developed a staffing model that provided offshore team leaders with insurance expertise who worked directly with clients. This approach helped companies scale efficiently without sacrificing quality.

The strategy worked. Within four years, ReSource Pro climbed to No. 57 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies. In 2024, the company celebrated its 15th appearance on the list, a testament to its sustained success.

Lessons in leadership and process

Epstein credits much of his leadership philosophy to his time in the Israeli military, where he learned the value of process discipline. This focus on aligning best practices with rigorous processes has been integral to ReSource Pro’s success.

Today, the company helps insurance organizations optimize operations by combining people, process, technology, and data. From consulting to policy processing, ReSource Pro empowers clients to operate more effectively.

Tackling industry challenges

Epstein points to fragmentation and inefficiencies in the insurance sector as ongoing challenges. Without standardized processes and clean data, efforts to adopt automation or AI often fall short.

ReSource Pro addresses these challenges by helping organizations streamline their operations and prepare for digital transformation. Epstein also emphasizes the importance of retaining industry knowledge and blending insurance expertise with technical skills to navigate the talent gap.

A vision for the future

From his early experiences in international relations to leading ReSource Pro, Epstein’s journey highlights the power of perseverance and adaptability.

“It’s amazing—the little, serendipitous things that happen that end up having a massive influence on your life,” Epstein says.
