NC| The North Carolina Department of Insurance Life & Health Division issued Bulletin 26-B-03 notifying all insurers and other entities licensed under Chapter 58 that, following Governor Stein’s Executive Order No. 32 declaring a state of emergency due to a projected winter storm and prior severe winter weather, health benefit plans (including those defined in N.C.G.S. 58-3-167, the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees, related optional programs under Chapter 135, and stand-alone prescription drug plans) must comply with statutory requirements in NCGS 58-3-228 to allow coverage of extra prescription fills during the emergency; this authorization applies to prescription requests made within 29 days of the bulletin’s issuance, unless extended by the Commissioner.
