Maryland Issues 60-Day Grace Period for Insurance Premiums in Allegany and Garrett Counties After State of Emergency

MD| Following a State of Emergency declared for Allegany and Garrett Counties due to a disruptive weather event, the Maryland Insurance Administration issued Bulletin 25-8 requiring all property, casualty, life, and health insurers to provide reasonable accommodations to affected policyholders. Specifically, insurers must offer a 60-day grace period for premium payments to prevent cancellations of personal, commercial, and life insurance policies for residents and businesses in the impacted counties.
