Share

SC| The South Carolina Department of Insurance has issued Bulletin 2025-02, extending the period for licensing temporary non-resident adjusters and motor vehicle physical damage appraisers due to the ongoing impact of Tropical Storm Helene. This extension, dated January 14, 2025, prolongs the original declaration made in Bulletin 2024-11 from September 30, 2024.

Some key points:

  • The extension is necessitated by the persistent need for emergency adjusters and appraisers due to the volume and scope of unresolved claims from Tropical Storm Helene.
  • The extension adds 90 days to the original 120-day period, setting a new expiration date of April 25, 2025.
  • Insurance carriers can extend permits for emergency non-resident adjusters and appraisers through the Department’s electronic permitting process.
