PR| The Puerto Rico Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCS) announces that it is implementing scheduled technological enhancements to the Healthcare Provider Credentialing Portal, developed under Act 73-2023 to standardize credentialing and re‑credentialing for commercial medical plans. These improvements, which began January 19, 2026, are intended to optimize system functionality, improve user experience, and ensure compliance with deadlines in Chapter 18 of the Health Insurance Code, with normal, uninterrupted operations expected to resume by February 2, 2026. During the enhancement period, OCS will not impose fines or administrative sanctions for noncompliance related to use of the portal and will consider this period when evaluating any investigations, complaints, or administrative proceedings, while reserving its authority to adjudicate each case based on its specific facts and applicable law.
