CO| Colorado Bulletin No. B-5.56, provides guidance to property insurers, including the FAIR Plan, on complying with § 10-4-124, C.R.S., by requiring them to give applicants (at application) and policyholders (annually) a plain-language written notice disclosing the property’s wildfire risk score or classification, the insurer’s wildfire risk score range, any available mitigation discounts, and appeal rights, for all residential property policies including master policies for multifamily housing. The Division clarifies that bulletins are interpretations of existing law and not binding norms, and that insurers may use or deviate from the model notice in Attachment A that is included in the bulletin so long as they meet the statute’s minimum requirements.
