Jobs After Military Service: From the U.S. Navy to ReSource Pro

With over 30 years of operations experience in the U.S. Navy, former Rear Admiral John Spencer brings unique expertise in operational assessment and growth strategies. Spencer’s naval career assignments included submarine commanding officer and Pentagon policy advisor, imparting a universal set of skills in personnel leadership and integration.

Seeking a new challenge, Spencer decided to begin a career in insurance, joining ReSource Pro last December as its senior director of U.S. operations. It’s a decision he says was grounded in the organization’s commitment to problem-solving. With a diverse range of responsibilities that include supporting the integration of acquired companies, ensuring quality standards, and leading strategic growth projects, Spencer says his new role has been a good fit.

Despite his extensive experience in the Navy, Spencer acknowledges that there’s much for him to learn about the insurance industry. He’s confident that he’ll continue to grow his own expertise as he supports Resource Pro’s growth in his new role. Looking back on his time with the Navy, Spencer considers it a fulfilling and enriching experience and hopes that more employers recognize the benefits of hiring veterans like himself.
