Wisconsin OCI Announces 2026 Insurance Agent Appointment Renewal Window Through NIPR; Electronic Payments Required

Share

WI| The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) has issued a bulletin regarding the 2026 agent appointment renewal process, which will be handled electronically through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). All resident and nonresident agent appointments will be included on the renewal invoice unless terminated by December 15, 2025, and appointments added after that date will be assigned a 2027 renewal. The renewal invoice and agent list will be available on NIPR from January 6 to March 15, 2026, and payment must be made electronically—credit card or electronic check—by the March 15 deadline, as paper checks are not accepted. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in termination of all agent appointments, requiring reappointment and payment of initial fees to reactivate.

Key Points:

  • Agent appointment renewals for 2026 must be processed electronically via NIPR, with invoices available from January 6 to March 15, 2026.
  • The deadline to terminate an agent appointment is 11:59 p.m. CST on December 15, 2025; appointments added after this date will not be included in the 2026 renewal.
  • Payment must be made electronically (credit card or electronic check) by March 15, 2026; paper checks are not accepted and will result in non-processing.
  • If payment is not received by the deadline, all agent appointments will be terminated and must be reappointed with initial fees paid to reactivate.
